            South Africa has recently been grey listed, which means that it has been identified as a jurisdiction under increased monitoring by the Financial Action Task Force ("FATF"). Being grey listed can have significant consequences for investment purposes and businesses operating in South Africa, particularly those engaged in international trade and financial transactions. It has thus far resulted in increased due diligence requirements and higher compliance costs and can also potentially result in reputational damage. To mitigate these risks, accountable institutions must ensure that their anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism and counter-proliferation financing policies and procedures are robust and compliant with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, Act 38 of 2001 (“FICA”) and other incidental legislation, and that they are prepared to adapt to any changes in regulations or enforcement actions.

           Exodec/Safrican Insurance Company Limited must be notified of Funeral Claims within 6 (six) months of an Insured’s death. Even if all the required information is not yet available, it must still be notified of the potential Claim. The following information is required to process a Claim (standard claims package):
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Policyholder
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Fully completed, signed and stamped claim form
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Copy of a signed policy document
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;

            Certified Copy of the deceased’s identity document

            Copy of 6 months receipts/bank transfers as proof of payments made

            If Child is over the age of 22 - we require a certified copy of a letter from the educational facility confirming the Child is registered and the course / grade that they are registered for.

    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            A maximum period of 6 (six) months from the date of Death is permitted to submit all funeral claim requirements. Failure to comply with this will result in closure of the file and no further evidence being considered for assessment and processing of a Claim, unless there are extenuating circumstances acceptable to the Insurer for the late submission.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            If there is no nominated beneficiary on the policy, the persons eligible to claim are - the spouse (first), if there is no spouse the child/ren(preferably the oldest child), if there are no children then a parent and if there is no parent then a sibling.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Letter of authority in cases where there are no beneficiaries where cousins, nieces, etc. claims an Affidavits from both sides of the family confirming that the said family member is claiming including their id copies.
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            All documents to be certified and no stamps must be older than 3 months

            Additional information and / or documentation may be requested depending on the merit of the claim.

            Waiving of waiting period (Trial period) on death due to natural causes on a take-over policy can be waved on members where the proof of :
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            previous underwriting by a reputable underwriter can be provided indicating the same cover amounts, terms and conditions
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            as well as proof of premium payments for the previous 6 months paid over and received by the reputable underwriter and
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            a copy of the cancellation letter to the previous underwriter
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

            Condition is that previous policy must have been underwritten through a reputable underwriter.

            Marriage Certificate

            If this cannot be provided the person will have to be added as an extended to the policy.

           Proof of Marriage to be supplied at on boarding / inception:

           • Lebola Letter with Chief letter confirming traditional marriage
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • If Life partners proof of this in the form of e.g. Utility bill with details of both main member and spouse or Medical aid membership or Birth Certificates of Children or Bond application or Rental Agreement
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • If this cannot be provided the person will have to be added as an extended to the policy.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;

           • No ex-spouses or ex-life partners can be covered as that relationship has been

           terminated and there is no insurable interest according to law.
          &#xD;

            Waiving of waiting period (Trial period) on death due to natural causes on a take-over policy can be waved on members where the proof of :

    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            previous underwriting by a reputable underwriter can be provided indicating the same cover amounts, terms and conditions
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            as well as proof of premium payments for the previous 6 months paid over and received by the reputable underwriter and
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            a copy of the cancellation letter to the previous underwriter and onfirmation of the cancellation from the previous underwriter
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Condition is that previous policy must have been underwritten through a reputable underwriter.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;
